Harvey Diamond Trio

Harvey Diamond – piano / Jon Dryeyer – bass / Miki Matsuki – drums
The legendary jazz pianist Harvey Diamond has graced the Boston area for decades with his music which is at once both deeply technical and deeply emotional to even the most casual listener. Harvey, a protégé of the great Lennie Tristano, has performed with Sheila Jordan, Art Farmer, Charles Neville and many others. After decades of patience by his fans, he has finally released his first CD as a leader, The Harvey Diamond Trio.

Bassist Jon Dreyer (Jon Dreyer Music), a student of Harvey Diamond, has become one of his closest collaborators. He also performs regularly with James Merenda, both as a member of his band TickleJuice and also in more mainstream jazz settings, and has performed with most of the Boston jazz community, including Adam Janjigian, Yoko Miwa, Frank Wilkins, Joe Hunt and Steve Langone.

Drummer Miki Matsuki moved to the United States to study jazz at Berklee College of Music in 1996. Miki’s band received the title ‘Best of Berklee’ in 2000. Thereafter, Miki received a full scholarship to The Longy School Of Music, where she graduated with her MM and GPD in Modern American Music Performance with honors. Since then, Miki has performed and recorded in various musical settings, including performances through radio and TV broadcasting, a musical tour of Korea, and soundtrack work. Miki has performed with many great musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Joanne Brackeen, George Garzone, John Tchicai, Darren Barrett, Frank Lacy, Cecil Brooks, Dave Bryant, Stan Strickland and many others.

There will be no set list and no charts. Anything can happen. Listen to what Warne Marsh called "the spontaneous creation of beauty."

Space Devil RIP
Piotr Lato - bass clarinet, composition
Patrick Talesfore, Jr. – drums, percussion

Space Devil Rest in Peace (stylized: Space Devil RIP) is a composition-based improv duo co-led by composer/bass clarinetist Piotr Lato and drummer/percussionist Patrick Talesfore, Jr. established to push a previously underexplored format of live electro-acoustic music with no chordal accompaniment. Not tethered by any genre in particular, what at first glance could be labeled as a “free jazz” project pulls from both its members’ backgrounds. Talesfore, a longtime participant in underground music circles, learned from master drummers while playing in punk bands and jazz combos, cutting his teeth in rock clubs, bars, and basements. Lato, raised on Romantic music and gangsta rap, studied woodwinds with jazz greats while absorbing progressive rock, shoegaze, and electronic music.

The members of Space Devil RIP are dedicated to taking their instruments to extremes. No sound on the drum set is too primitive or abrasive. The bass clarinet’s full extended range is utilized through a series of pedals and processors with little regard for tradition. The result is a soundscape of rhythmic highs and lows ranging from lush tone poems to harsh noise cacophonies. Where labels are necessary, one may use the term “beautiful future music.”

Trees Take Ease (guitar + electronics, voice + electronics, guitar amp, mixer)

Trees Take Ease is the solo project of Brooklyn-based composer and improviser Stephen Becker. Starting as an outlet for low-fi bedroom ditties recorded at Oberlin College in 2014, TTE has since grown into an amalgam of song experiments and soundscapes, bridging a gap between the weird and the wonderful. Steve releases music on his tape label, One is Three Records.

No Axiom (computer + interface, electric bass + amp)

No Axiom is the ambient/electronic solo project of Cory Todd, a bassist and composer from Bethesda, MD. Combining lived recorded sampling with a harmonic approach to the electric bass, Cory creates soundscapes that tell stories on their own time, moving at a pace that changes the listener's perception through deliberate, textured composition. Influenced by artists like Stars of the Lid, Brian Eno, Eluvium, and Terekke, No Axiom presents itself as a space, for those willing, to simply float with the world and listen.

Wendy Alembic (guitar + amp, voice)

Wendy Eisenberg is a guitarist, banjo-player, vocalist and electronic musician who negotiates the line between composition, free improvisation, and noise. Her music can be found at wendyalembic.bandcamp.com and birthinghips.bandcamp.com.

Corinne Perreault (Vox, Computer, APC40)

Corinne is a Boston-based artist who primarily uses looping and harmony to tell stories through music. Her music is driven by heavy beats and overlaid with lyrically driven melodies about navigating life and the continuous learning one undergoes as a young person. Her soulful music reflects many contemporary sounds but reaches back to the more simplistic music performance of lone singer-songwriters with merely their voice and instrument.

I’ve had some exciting single releases over the past year - 2 music videos (LovesoundCome Over), a video game for my 3rd single Gold Coins, and a remix of Lovesound as a featured release on Beatport Pro.
I also coordinated with and was advised by Coalition for the Homeless when releasing a Christmas video, calling people to action during the 2015 Holiday Season to help those who are in need.
