DANIEL LEVIN - solo cello
+ANDREW NEUMANN - solo live electronics
http://www.adneumann.com/ad.html

This solo cello concert is part of a new project entitled "The Seven Layers of Consciousness".
For this project, I use the cello to explore different areas of my psyche.

*Levin has a sound that ranges from subtle and understated to
aggressive; with admirable technique as a performer and a compositional
concept that blends structure with freewheeling exploration, he deserves
to have his name added to the short list of cellists who are making a
mark in improvisational music.*
--John Kelman, All About Jazz Magazine

Daniel Levin was born in 1974 in Burlington, Vermont. He began playing
the cello at age six. He has performed and/or recorded with Billy Bang, Borah Bergman, Tim Berne, Anthony Braxton, Rob Brown, Gerald Cleaver, Whit Dickey, Mark Dresser, Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten, Joe Morris, Joe McPhee, William Parker, Warren Smith, Ken Vandermark, and others. Daniel has recorded as a sideman for Clean Feed, EMANEM, Not Two, and RogueART, and as a leader, for Riti Records, HatHut, and Clean Feed.
