Liana Stillman Trio

Ruth Lepson - poetry / Noah Preminger - sax / Eric Lane - keys

Based out of the Northeast United States, poet Ruth Lepson, saxophonist Noah Preminger, and keyboardist Eric Lane formed Low Road, a group that sets Lepson’s poetry to music written and performed by Preminger and Lane. The repertoire includes a diverse selection of songs containing strict structure as well as very open, free form. Lepson is the current poet-in-residence at New England Conservatory. Preminger and Lane are recent graduates of the school and frequently perform in the Boston and New York areas.

Ruth Lepson:
I'm poet-in-residence at NEC, have been performing with musicians in recent yrs, & Low Road is making a CD of my poems & their music. My books are: Dreaming in Color, Poetry from Sojourner, and Morphology. I've given readings at the Bowery Poetry Club, La Mama, & on NPR's "All Things Considered," & my poems have been in many mags.

Geezeworld presents jazz vocalist
Phil Grenadier - trumpet / Bruno Raberg - bass / Tom Zicarelli - piano
“A powerful, emotional artist…she alters themes until they become paraphrases of the original melodies, employing microtones in the process. She brings all of her, by jazz standards, wide range into play. She swoops, she bends notes, she lays behind the beat, then catches up with it. Dynamically, and texturally her work contains a good deal of contrast, sometimes she shouts, she growls, sometimes she almost whispers the lyrics...she’s among the best jazz vocalists to emerge in years.”

Music and performance art from Baltimore with
"Los Tenedores"

Perform some, tour some, foursome! Los Tenedores are troubadours of the modern age, present to commit individual and collaborative acts of passion. A pronged quartet, these escape-from-Baltimore artists alternate reality by being fully participatory... they seek truth, joy and reflection with each other, and you! All this born from the urgent nature of life and art -- language, performance and social. A conscious action decision, they create an abstractly tangible experience, designed to bring water forth from stone, transform overgrown souls into manicured infants, break down misery into revelry, and turn aurora borealis into crystal heaven; anything can happen and the senses are hyper-real. Through divergent paths, Theresa Columbus, Andy Herschberger, Freda Mohr and Elisa Urtiaga converge to comprise Los Tenedores. Los agarradores, Los Tenedores, agarran de la presente. The graspers, The Forks (The Possessors), take hold of (grasp) the present. "It was a passionate moment we were groping for..."
